Tjeerd de Jong
Born and raised in Friesland (NL) and graduated at the Van Hall Institute with a bachelor in Agricultural Logistics and then moved to the south of the Netherlands to start my career with a logistics service provider. I have worked for 15 years with 3PL companies on engineering, project- & program management, interim management, account management, operations in EMEA, Asia and USA across various industries. In 2014 joined Converse (Nike Inc.) as head of Distribution for EMEA. Running the growing business while building and implementing a greenfield DC. After 5 years in EMEA, I moved with my family to Boston, MA to develop and realise Converse's global supply chain strategy.
I am passionate about supply chains, a healthy lifestyle and continuous growth & learning. I am grateful for ongoing learning opportunities of speaking multiple languages, leadership development, and completing MIT Sloan School of Business Executive Courses in Leadership and Digitisation.
I am obsessed with maintaining my work/life balance that allows me to spend quality time with my family, be on my bike on the roads in Europe, and work on amazing opportunities.
Bringing people and teams together and make them understand the big picture and create a joint vision is what I do best with a hands on approach and a feel for team cultures and dynamics.

Fairbanks
Fairbanks is a small public T-stop close to where I used to live in Boston, MA. For me Fairbanks represents 'waste' in a logistics process as hardly anyone is using this station, yet the train always comes to a full stop. In my work I focus on optimising processes and eliminating waste. Fairbanks resembles the need for optimisation with a nod to a fantastic time living abroad in one of the best cities in the USA.
